CCTV survey

Sub-site Surveys Ltd uses the very latest CCTV equipment to accurately check the state of drains. This straightforward, cost-effective method of investigation uses remote-controlled cameras so there is minimal disruption to the drain or sewer and surrounding area. Surveys are recorded on a DVD so they can be viewed at a later date.

CCTV survey software

Wincan verification software standardises survey reports whichever CCTV system is used, ensuring consistency in results. 450 checks of survey data are included and all information is validated and coded in accordance with Wita/0520 pipeline surveying standards.

360° CCTV drain survey

Travelling at up to 35cm per second, the Panoramo 3D Optoscanner takes a panoramic recording of everything from the drain hole to all sides of the inside of the drain. The recorded images are stored digitally so they can be viewed instantly or sent to your office PC straightaway.

When viewing the captured footage, you can pan and rotate a virtual representation of the drain. The Panoramo software’s features includes the ability to capture still images and see a 2D view of the inside surface of the pipe.

Lateral survey CCTV

This LISY lateral survey CCTV system was developed especially for lateral drains and sewers. LISY can travel up to 100 metres along a mainline sewer and can survey a further 33 metres up a branch connection via its satellite camera.

ClearLine Profiler

By projecting a laser ring on to the inside surface of a drain, it’s possible to measure how much the drain has changed from its original round shape, to 1mm accuracy. The profiler is attached to the CCTV camera so any pipe deformation, erosion, residue build up or damage can be measured at the same time as the images are taken.

Profiler creates a digital profile of the pipe that can be viewed at any time or can be recorded to DVD. The software has added analysis features with a range of graph options to see a breakdown of the drain’s different dimensions.

Fault diagnosis, servicing and repairs

At Sub-site Surveys Ltd, we use the latest technology and equipment to investigate sewers and drains, and diagnose faults. With a range of restoration techniques at our disposal, we select the method of restoration or repair that will cause the least disruption and be the most cost-effective. All our work meets Pipeline Development Limited approved standards.

Relining

Relining (also known as no-dig or trenchless technology) involves installing a lining product which bonds to the inside of the pipe. Either the whole pipe can be lined for a full renovation, or single areas can be patched up for localised repairs. This is the quickest and least disruptive method of repairing a sewer or drain because no digging is required in relining.

We can reline full sewers and drains between 225mm and 1800mm in diameter. Before embarking on any repair or restoration, a full camera investigation is carried out.

Resin injection

This is used to seal holes and cracks in sewers and drains. A polyurethane resin is injected into the manhole and on contact with water, the resin expands to forty times its original size and seals any openings.

Jet vacuumation (sewer jetting)

Over time residue inevitably builds up and the mixture of food, mineral deposits, soap scum residue, grease and hair will cause a blockage. Jet vacuumation is a cost effective way of clearing a blocked sewer or drain without having to replace the line. A high pressure application of water is often enough to clear the blockage. Jet vacuumation can also be used to clean oil and water interceptor tanks.

Electromechanical cleaning

Sprung cutters on flexible steel rods cut away at the build-up causing the drain blockage. Electromechanical cleaning is perfect for removing very stubborn substances like uric and lime scale and concrete residue.

EMC is used when it would not be appropriate to use high-pressure water cleaning, for example where there is a chance it could cause flooding.

We undertake both under and above ground investigative and repair work. All excavation work is carried out by highly trained and experienced personnel who are fully compliant with the latest legislation and all health and safety regulations.
