Utility detection

Non-digging technology

Subsite Surveys uses the latest detection technology including electromagnetic detection, signal induced threading and ground penetrating radar to locate just about any buried utility including:

  • Metal pipes
  • Plastic pipes
  • Drainage systems
  • Electricity cables
  • Telecoms cables
  • Fibre-optic cables

Quick response

For contractors who need to undertake excavation works at short notice, Subsite can be on site within 24 hours to locate and mark out underground utilities.

Immediate results

We use non-invasive methods, enabling us to produce accurate results without the need to dig trial holes.

The position, direction, depth and type of underground utility are marked on the ground with a line-diagram in colour-coded, biodegradable paint. Our equipment provides real time information so results are obtained instantly. Full survey information is recorded on-site and left with you.

Topographic survey

Each of our surveying vehicles are fitted with the latest Trimble robotic stations and GPS surveying units. As our vehicles are located throughout the country, we can provide a fast, nationwide on-demand service.

Land surveying

Land surveys, building surveys and topographic surveys are all produced in-house. The data collected provides accurate drawings that reflect the area and features in the survey. Data can be ordered as a standalone item or as a complete package to complement our utility mapping and radar surveys.

Ground penetrating radar

Non-destructive utility detection

GPR can be used in a variety of materials including; rock, soil, ice, fresh water and pavements. Electromagnetic radiation is used to transmit radar pulses below the surface. The GPR records the reflected signals to produce an image of the composition and location of sub-surface structures.
